Highland Park

When we purchased our home in 1999, a typical 1.5-story, it had great potential though it suffered deferred maintenance. We personally began renovating the kitchen and living area remaining true to the enduring quality. In 2006 we thought of moving but realized we love the neighborhood and our home, so we set about making it ideal. Our typical city lot limited options for foundation expansion so it led us to look up. Krista, owner of local interior design firm Indicia, designed the new second floor to include a home office, two bedrooms and a full bath. On the main level we created a family room adjacent to our kitchen. The only new foundation, 60 sq ft, is a mud room with all the dog’s necessities. Our meticulous attention to detail ensured that the exterior design harmonizes with the charm of older homes surrounding.
