Hiawatha

We purchased our house as a fixer-upper in 2001, making just a few changes. In 2005, expecting our first child, we decided it was time to “child-proof.” We removed the asbestos siding and updated the windows. By 2007, we thought about where the next baby was going to sleep. It was time to take off the half-story and build a full second floor with an addition off the back for a kitchen and full basement for the home office. We lived in the basement for 7 months with our young son and aging 105 pound golden retriever. It was an adventure and a lot of work but after two and a half years we have the house of our dreams in an ideal location.
