With just a few modern updates courtesy of NKBA Award-Winning Designer and homeowner Christine Nelson, this historic home is now the functional, colorful home of her dreams. The kitchen was moved to an adjoining room, the powder room received a facelift and a much-needed mudroom was created in the space occupied by the old kitchen. In keeping with the historic flavor of the house, Christine added crown moldings and appropriate window trim while adding a more contemporary splash of color with a cobalt blue Viking range and a Mediterranean-inspired color palette. Staying true to her artistic roots, Christine collaborated with local artist Lisa Moll on a custom-cut stained glass tile backsplash that now serves as the kitchen’s focal point.
