In 1984, the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls, Minnesota, were looking for a home in Minneapolis to house a small community of sisters. The house would be located in a diverse neighborhood, near public transportation, a home in good repair, and would be large enough to hold prayer gatherings of friends and neighbors. This 2.5-story house, built in 1905, had been renovated by Project for Pride in Living and had the other desired qualities.
The sisters living in the home have been members of the leadership team for the Franciscan Sisters, have engaged in numerous ministries in the metro area, and have been active in neighborhood activities such as National Night Out and the Central Area Neighborhood Development Organization (CANDO). The home has become a gathering space for many friends and associates.
