Shenandoah Terrace

Built 1929
Sarah and Brad Wilkinson
We love our neighbors and home in Shenandoah Terrace, so decided to remodel and add on to make our 1929 home function for our family. We love to travel and wanted our home to have a European feel to it. We gutted our kitchen and added lots of stone and wood to give it a warm, natural, welcoming feel. We added on a mudroom with a vaulted fir beaded ceiling and lockers. Our home felt dark so we opened up the space to allow for natural light flow from the front of our home to the back. We pushed out our second floor in the back and added a master suite with a stone wall, Juliet doors, en suite bathroom, and a walk in closet. We got clever natural light solutions by adding glass block in the master shower and a transom window through to the hallway as well as a solar tube to get natural light flow on the second floor. We added additional square footage to the basement.
