Willard Hay/Homewood

I bought this house in 2006. It had everything I was looking for; size, character, and lots of room for improvement! The house definitely was not in good shape cosmetically. So I began with the upstairs. We retro-fitted all the walls with insulation, and crawled into the attic to add about 24” of blow-in cellulose. We ripped out all the dirty carpets and refinished the hardwood floors. All the plaster walls were patched and painted, new lighting added, and decorative cosmetic touches like picture molding, crown moulding, and wainscoting were added. I love the neighborhood for its quiet and the location-location-location; being steps from the park and wooded areas, yet minutes from downtown, is something you just cannot beat.
