Payne Phalen

We purchased our home in 1994 because we liked the idea of City living near Lake Phalen and because the house was seen in the “Grumpy Old Men.” movies. In the past two decades our home has been fully renovated. In the mid 1980’s, before we moved in, the original 1919 part of the house was remodeled. In 1996 we converted the front porch to all-season. In 2003 we tore off an early 1960’s addition and replaced it with a large family room, office, kitchen and added an upstairs balcony. In 2008 we added a large deck flowing onto a private patio. Although we finally believe our house is perfect, we think the neighbors and our neighborhood are the best part of living on the East Side.
