Merriam Park

Sprawling across its double lot, our 1909 home has the appearance of a mansion from the street, but the kitchen fell far short of the home’s confident image. It was small, cramped and very dark. The kitchen has now been reoriented and enlarged to obtain natural light, views and increase the total functionality of the home, all the while remaining true to the vintage of the home. The modern convenience of a mudroom and new powder room are now also part of the flow. The design solution allows us to be multi-functional and the kitchen is now the link in the sequence of spaces around the centralized grand stair.
