At one door south of Minnehaha Parkway, we are three blocks south of the 46th Street Light Rail Transit station. We have eliminated one car from our household and use the LRT on a daily basis; we were able to remove the garage which had obstructed our south light. “small is the new green,” and our home was 1,400 square feet before our addition, 1,600 sq. ft. after adding a one story 8’ x 26’ addition, with first floor bathroom and an architect-designed European style remodel of a 13’ × 28’ kitchen and eating area. We’ve remodeled to Minnesota GreenStar standards (www.mngreenstar.org) for energy efficiency and sustainability.
