The original kitchen had ample cupboards but little for useable countertops. A window placement kept one wall from being used effectively. By relocating this window and eliminating a doorway it allowed counter space for a dishwasher, an above range microwave and additional countertop for food preparation.

Outside, the three-season screen porch has given our family a usable “back yard.” The rear of the house extends out from a hill and the sharp slope made the back yard unusable. The concrete slab that comprised the roof of the garage became the platform to build the cedar screen porch. The addition truly brings the outside inside.
