Acquired in 2009 by the University District Alliance, this 1907 family home is a demonstration of the Alliance themes of sustainable redevelopment and home-ownership. Last year’s showed the home’s potential for green renovation. This year visitors will see the results: the large, light kitchen with eco-friendly cabinets and appliances, the sunroom with radiant-floor heat and French doors for natural light, the high-efficiency furnace/water heater, low-water use fixtures, and more. Renovation has preserved and renewed the spectacular woodwork, leaded windows, staircase, and birch floors, using environmentally sensitive treatments. restoration workers will be present to discuss their work. the home is for sale to an owner-occupant.
